wheel chairs
Conquer your disability with wheel chairs to
help you get on a roll again!
People with illnesses, injuries or those who are physically disabled use
wheel chairs to get around. These allow their users to be free and
independent and to go wherever they want. They have been used for
centuries now-it is a known fact that the Egyptians used to cart around
their invalids in hand-pushed carts. Today’s wheel chairs, though, don’t
make you feel like a sack of potatoes being hauled to and fro. They are
lighter, stronger and much more durable than the old.
Wheel chairs may have radically changed, but their basic design has been
the same for several decades. A person sits in a chair which has wheels
underneath, that permit him/ her to move. The wheel chair can either be
a regular or transport. The difference between the two is that in a
regular chair, the back wheels are large and the person uses his/her own
hands to push the wheels, thus propelling him or herself forward. But in
a transport wheelchair, the user takes the help of an aide to push the
chair from behind and therefore, large wheels are not required.
Depending on the kind of technology that goes into their making, wheel
chairs can also be classified as manual or electric/powered chairs.
While manual chairs are operated by the user physically pushing the
wheels, electric chairs are run by batteries that can be charged from
time to time. No matter what kind you choose, they will change your life
forever. So use a wheel chair and bring about a big U-turn in your life!
